Don't see your community?

Only candidates endorsed through the labour endorsement process are listed here. If your community isn't on the list, there may not be endorsed candidates running there this year. You can still learn about everyone on your ballot through your local government's election page.

How to vote on Oct. 17

Each city, town and regional district runs its own election. Find your local government's election page to confirm where and when you can vote, including advance voting days, and what ID to bring. If you're not on the voters list, you can register when you vote. Elections BC has general information about how local elections work.

Why your local vote matters

The people elected on Oct. 17 make decisions about services BCGEU members deliver and rely on every day, including housing, transit and parks. They'll hold those seats for the next four years. Turnout in local elections is often low, which means a handful of votes can decide who wins.

About BCGEU's labour endorsements

BCGEU isn't affiliated with any political party. That independence lets us advocate for our members and hold every government accountable, whoever forms it. Our support can't be taken for granted. It's earned through concrete commitments to working people.

Next up: the provincial election on Oct. 24

One week after municipal voting day, B.C. votes again. See how the parties measure up on the issues you told us matter most.
